New function

A new function will be added to the galleries as I update them.
The function shows the camera make and model, the focal length and the ISO.
First gallery to have this in effect will be the surf gallery.

Too many photos!

I filled a whole hard drive with nearly 20000 photos, so I had to move hard drives. This proved a time consuming task as I had to update the location of my folders in Lightroom.
Glad it's done though. So much more room for photos with a whole hard drive dedicated to the cause.

Photos previous mentioned in the last post are now finally uploaded.

Trip #1 of summer holidays

Went to Fraser Island for 3 nights with low expectations.
Left Fraser feeling like I really underestimated the place.
Very photogenic place, but overrun by tourists. Shame.

Wish I took more photos!
I will surely have a few to upload over the coming days once I go through them all.

Juices

The creative juices have been flowing the past week.
Just did some childish artworks, photoshopped into a black and white photo or 2 and you have a nice piece of art.

Pretty simple.
These digital images will be uploaded sometime this week hopefully.

Can't upload now because my host is changing servers for better performance, or so they say.

Lacking, but not really.

I've been lacking updates, but not content.

Finally finished the photo blog on Friday. It works, but I don't like it, or how many files I'll have to upload and how many codes I'll have to change to get it working on my site. So at the moment, it's abandoned.

In other news, I finally got some cables for my old scanner (thanks eBay).
Uploaded some terrible scans (adds to the effect?) of some film pics I had from my Minolta X-700, which I got from Lifeline for a steal. You can find them in the Leisure section of Photography.

I've recently got some more lenses for it (thanks again Lifeline), so I'm just waiting for some interesting subjects to show themselves.

More news, the menus have changed.
I decided that I don't really have time to design for my leisure, so I deleted that menu and the projects menu, and added graphic and web design. Much better I think.

Another update, just took some pictures of one of my first design projects. I was really into Angus and Julia at the time when their first LP was just released. So yeah, have a look in the Graphic section!

Big, but small update.

Lots of work for me, but you probably won't see any of it.
Changed all my files to PHP files, so that I can now work dynamically.
The header and footer menus are now able to be dynamically changed, saving me time in the long run.

Got some major work to do on the photo blog page, as it's due on Friday!

New assignment...

Work never ends.

Next assignment for one of my classes is to create a photo sharing page where users will be able to login and upload/delete their photos. It's due next week, so I'm not sure if it'll actually do any of that stuff, but I'll give it a go. Other things the website will need to do is display resized photos in a matrix and display larger photos when mouse over. It's a mixture of html, php and javascript.

Anyways, I'm trying to find out a way to include it into the website...

I'm thinking a possible photo blog?

Also gearing up a few new sections for the website...

Busy!

Been quite busy relaxing the past few days.

Been doing nothing but assignments over the holidays till half a week ago. Now I'm a bit relieved and ready to get back into it.

Lots of news, but none really related to the website, which is what this blog is about.

So, news in relation to the website. I stole a new camera (not literally) from a local op shop. Got it for a steal.

So when I get my scanner fixed, I'll create a film section (perhaps).

Start uni again next week, and will (hopefully) upload a new design project by next weekend.

Next assignment is magazine design which I'm excited about...

More Updates

In a world were quantity seems to shine over quality, I just try keep my export expectations to quality only.

Just went through 300+ new photos.

Most are usable (I could look at surf photos all day), but I only chose a few to upload.

Check out the surf section for new photos from this morning!

Also added a new photo to the fauna section.

And a few photos to the 'Things I Like' section.

I'm also gradually switching the galleries around so that the most recent photos come up first, for convenience.

The weekend is here for me, and now I'm on 2 weeks holidays.

Thank goodness.

I'll probably start designing a proper logo over the holidays.

Hello,

Finally finished my first dynamic webpage.

It's basically a guestbook, but I hate that word, so I've called it, 'Hello'.

Basically, it's just for anyone to say hello, or comment my work.

Pretty pleased it's over with to be honest.

The assignment is due tomorrow and I've just finished writing 1000 words on it and creating flow charts, among other things that seem pointless.

Anyways, I didn't really want to post it up yet, but I thought it couldn't really hurt.

Plus, it's Friday tomorrow and I'm heading the Byron Bay this weekend.

Surf's been fun too.

Coming along

The new dynamic page is coming along, slowly.

After hours of mistakes and frustration, the results are finally coming through.

It will be at least a few days before I try a prototype of 'hello'.

The assignment is due this Friday (I think), so should definitely see some results by then, because I'm pretty keen to test it out.

I have a few more photos ready to chuck up when the time is right.

Also a design project to upload once it's finished (most likely in 2 weeks).

Not good to be back to a Monday, but there's a bit of surf hanging around, and I'm nearly on holidays, so it's alright.

New feature!

I've started planning out a new section of the website called 'hello.' (for now), and it will utilise what I've been learning at uni to allow people to post a comment (hopefully).

It works out well, because I need to do this for an assessment at uni, so when/if I figure everything out, I'll update the webpage immediately.

This will be my first useful dynamic website.

It's also a lot of work, for not much design value (which is really not for me, but could be handy to learn either way).

Anyway, this assignment is due in a couple of weeks, so keep refreshing, ha ha.

Finally got around to updating the website again.

Nothing huge.

Minor change to home page, and an updated flora gallery.

I Kinda like the first image in that gallery, although I'm hanging to get a newer/better camera for that kind of stuff.

Anyways, uni assignments are calling my name for another hour or so.

A logo

Hello there,
I've just jumped back into the busy uni life after a bit of a relaxing weekend.
Last week was a little bit busy, although it's got nothing on the weeks to come...
Been scribling a few sketches during a boring 2 hour lecture on design history, which I pretty much did at school anyways.
I've come up with a few logo designs, although I'm sure there's something better out there.

But, we're learning PHP and SQL at the moment.

My first assignment for that class is basically to create a dynamic version of my current website.

So, expect to see some dynamic changes in the future.

Starting a blog...

Had to think about this, but thought it could be a nice addition to have instead of creating a 'news' section on my website.

So basically, I'll be updating this with news when there is any.

I'm guessing it will be frequently updated when I'm not away and when I don't have hectic uni assignments due.

Anyways, today I've added:

- New stuff in the 'surf' section called 'Half-hour at Sir Leslie's'.

- New stuff in the 'leisure/photography' section called 'Things I Like'.

- And a blog...
